Our training Philosophy
At Bukan Alaska, our exclusive focus is on the original Israeli martial art of Krav-Maga, taught in its untarnished form. We adhere strictly to the foundational principles established by Imi, ensuring all techniques are delivered without omission or embellishment, and we honor the philosophy, original customs, rules, and principles of the martial art.
This dedication to authenticity is reflected in our training environment. Classes are conducted on traditional martial arts tatami mats, and students wear a white kimono with the school's distinctive symbol. The curriculum follows a structured, progressive belt system designed to methodically build practical, applicable skills and enhance self-assurance. Over time, dedicated students will also have the opportunity to understand and embrace the profound spiritual dimensions and deeper philosophy embedded within the art form.
Bukan Alaska provides a secure and effective learning atmosphere through a combination of precise instruction, expert demonstrations, focused drills, and guided partner practice. Foundational skills serve as the essential stepping stones for all subsequent learning; thus, dedication, meticulous attention to detail, and self-control are critical disciplines that students cultivate and practice during every session.
Only instructors who have received official Bukan certification are authorized to establish and teach within Bukan institutions. Our instructors are recognized subject matter experts across all facets of self-defense; consequently, no external instructors or guest demonstrators provide instruction to Bukan students.
As an international school, Bukan offers students exceptional opportunities to travel globally, enabling participation in specialized training sessions and official belt examinations at affiliated Bukan dojos worldwide. Grading examinations are conducted by Grand Master Yaron or Sensei Rotem Lichtenstein, Yaron official successor and President of the Bukan, and students receive certificates bearing their signatures.
Dedicated students who receive an official endorsement from their instructor are also afforded the opportunity to attend instructor certification courses hosted globally by Grand Master Yaron or Sensei Rotem. Upon successful completion of this certification process, graduates are qualified to establish their own official Bukan dojo or join the teaching staff at an existing affiliated institution.
Bukan transcends the boundaries of a mere self-defense course; it represents an intricate art form that demands both patience and profound dedication to master.
