At the forefront, Bukan techniques and drills are designed to minimize the risk of injury in the real world situations and in the dojo.
We use clear instruction, demonstrations and guided partner practice to protect students.
Training is conducted on a 1.5 in thick tatami (martial arts mats) to absorb the shock of falls. Magenim (thick pads) are used to absorb the force of hand and leg strikes to prevent injuries.

It is essential to truthfully disclose any injuries or conditions on the intake form, so your instructor can help you participate safely. If you’re experiencing new injuries or illness, notify your instructor as soon as possible.

All seminars and classes are taught by Bukan certified instructors. At Bukan Alaska, Ioana Florescu, will be your instructor. She is trained directly under Instructor Andrei Ciliboae and Grand Master Yaron and earned her instructor certification in 2023. Find out more.

Students can train at any Bukan School of Krav-Maga if they wish to continue their journey in the authentic Israeli martial art for self-defense. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee that any other establishment advertising “Krav-Maga” provides the same quality training. Currently Bukan Alaska is the only Bukan school in the US.
One unique aspect of the school is that Bukan instructors worldwide teach the techniques in the Hebrew, the original language of the founder. Therefore, students can travel to the other countries where Bukan schools exist and train without needing to know the local language.
